A domain is made up of one or more workgroups.  Templates and resource types can be associated with domains, thereby making them available only to the workgroups in those domains.  For example, when a user creates a template in the CERF client, he must select a domain for the new template.  The default domain contains only this user; thus any templates created using the default domain will be available only to this user.  If there are research groups in your organization who wish to share templates, the system admin generally creates a domain that includes their workgroups.

Select Access > Domains from the Menu in the left panel. This opens the Manage Domain page, which lists any of the Domains in which you are a Domain Administrator.  If no Domains are listed, it is likely that you are not a Domain Admin.  If you are a Domain Administrator, you will be able to view the information for that Domain and you will be able to Edit any Domains you administer.  Note that only System Admins can create Domains.

Edit Domains
Select a domain from the list on the Manage Domains page and click the Edit button at the bottom of the page.  This opens the Edit Domain page.  You can change any of the parameters that were set when the domain was created:

Admins:  You can select additional domain administrators by selecting the checkboxes next to usernames in the first pane.  If no domain administrator is selected, the System Administrator will be the domain administrator for the domain.  Domain administrators can manage (e.g., edit) domains they administer.

Workgroups:  Select/deselect member workgroups for the domain by selecting/deselecting checkboxes next to workgroups in the next pane.

Templates/Resource Types:  You can unassign templates or resource types by deselecting the checkboxes next to the templates (or resource types), but only the system admin can initially assign templates (or resource types) to a domain.

Click the Save Changes button when finished.
